Taking the Lead
Taking the Lead, Inc. would like to invite the communities of Maryland to partner with Taking the Lead, Inc., to help make a difference in the lives of children, adults, and veterans living with disabilities.
Founded in 2017 by Occupational Therapist and PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Instructor, Chelsea Whitaker, as an alternative to traditional therapy approaches, Taking the Lead, Inc. supported therapy needs of individuals services to clients with Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Down Syndrome, Ehlers Danlos, Multiple Sclerosis, PTSD, and other mental and physical disabilities, by utilizing animals as a treatment strategy to help clients improve focus, balance, muscle strength, communication, and posture, to be more independent in daily life.
Taking the Lead, Inc. works diligently to be a leader in innovative and alternative healing therapies by providing life-changing services for individuals in the greater Freeland area, and supporting a mission of empowering the most vulnerable individuals to move in a world where capabilities surpass the sense of inability through the power of horses and animals.
